Audio-following noise layer
With Single Hit Envelope off, the audio-driven layer follows the incoming sound. Add air and fuzz to bass without building a separate noise track.
ERB N DUB / TEXTURE & TRANSIENT DESIGN
Give bass more edge and drums a shaped noise tail. Choose a noise source or import your own sample, then control its tone, width and envelope.
Created by ERB N DUB, drawing on 20 years of shaping bass, drums and the details that make them speak in a mix.

BUILT-IN COLOURS / YOUR OWN SAMPLES
Go from White, Pink and Brown noise to crackle, radio interference, metallic ringing and more. Or import your own WAV or AIFF and pitch the sample to fit the sound.

With Single Hit Envelope off, the audio-driven layer follows the incoming sound. Add air and fuzz to bass without building a separate noise track.
Turn Single Hit Envelope on to trigger an independent tail from each detected attack. Draw points, bend the decay and set its length to the beat.
FILTER / WIDTH / FEEL
High-pass and low-pass the added layer, with slopes up to 48 dB per octave. These filters leave the dry input untouched.
Set the layer’s stereo width, add drive and balance its level. Solo the layer to hear the detail, then check it with the track.
Repeat restarts the source on detected attacks. Random lets it evolve. Use a short envelope for tight hits or open up the decay for a longer tail.
GOOD TO KNOW
Yes. Import mono or stereo WAV and AIFF files up to 10 seconds long. The sample is stored inside your preset or DAW project, and Sample Pitch lets you tune it.
No. NoiseForge is an audio effect. Its Single Hit Envelope responds to detected audio attacks rather than MIDI notes.
No. High-Pass and Low-Pass shape the added layer. Use High-Pass to keep that layer away from the sub while the dry input stays intact.
No. It is a switchable sample-peak hard clipper. Check the final peaks and loudness in the full mix.
